(SIX Swiss Exchange: AMS), a leading global supplier of optical solutions, today announced the launch of the OSLON UV 3535 series of medium-power UV-C LEDs, offering longer lifetime, higher output power and easier system integration to further meet customer needs.

With their compact design, leading efficiency and superior quality, OSLON UV 3535 LEDs are ideal for consumer and industrial applications such as water purification and air conditioning system disinfection. The SU CULDP1.VC model has a typical output power of 40mW at a drive current of 185mA and the SU CULEP1.VC model has an output power of 75mW at a drive current of 350mA.
The innovative package design incorporates a reflector that eliminates the need for a cover glass, reducing optical losses and increasing light output with an electro-optical conversion efficiency of up to 3.7%. The reflector collects the radiation from the chip and reflects the light at a 120° viewing angle. The product is available in a standard size of 3.5mm x 3.5mm, which gives system developers the flexibility to use standard UV-C lenses and optimise light output due to the absence of coverslips and lenses.
The new OSLON products SU CULDP1.VC and SU CULEP1.VC have an excellent lifetime (depending on the application). The package includes an ESD protector and a transparent dielectric coating as a protective element, contributing to the robustness of the LED.
Pia Weinmann, Senior Product Manager UV-C at Emmis OSLON, said, "Manufacturers of UV disinfection equipment are competing to provide greater value to their customers by using fewer, longer-lasting emitters to produce the required amount of disinfectant. the OSLON UV 3535 product offers a new competitive advantage with its higher output power and longer service life ."
Technological innovation leads to performance breakthroughs The improved performance of the OSLON UV 3535 LED is due to innovations in package design and semiconductor technology. The innovative open package design is robust, compact and flexible for applications requiring medium to high UV-C output power. The AlGaN-based Flip Chip is more reliable than conventional UV-C light sources and offers high flexibility in terms of wavelength, output power and switching.
