According to people familiar with the matter, Softbank group plans to list part of arm's shares on the London Stock Exchange. Previously, Softbank only planned to list in the United States.
Softbank group has adjusted its listing plan. It will list most of arm's shares in the United States and some shares in London. At present, it is still unclear about the financing scale and time of the listing, and the plan is still variable.
In 2016, Softbank acquired arm. If arm is only listed in the United States, it will undoubtedly be a heavy blow to the British government and the British capital market.
Earlier this week, Chris, the UK Secretary of state for science and technology. Chris Philp has said that the government will cooperate with arm to ensure that it is listed in its home country.
Son Zhengyi, the founder of Softbank, once said that he would seek to sell some arm before the end of the fiscal year in March next year.
It is reported that Softbank is seeking a valuation of at least US $60billion for arm. Originally, Softbank was going to sell arm to NVIDIA, but because regulators blocked the transaction, Softbank hoped that arm's valuation would be higher than the sale price at that time.
Sun Zhengyi purchased arm at a price of about US $32billion.
