Infineon Technologies AG announces the launch of ISOFACE™ quad digital isolators, further expanding its broad portfolio of isolation technologies and products.
The ISOFACE quad-channel digital isolators are divided into two categories: The AEC-Q100 certified ISOFACETM 4DIRx4xxHA family is dedicated to automotive applications such as on-board chargers (OBCs), battery management systems (BMSs), inverters, motor control, etc.; and the JEDEC-compliant ISOFACE 4DIRx4xxH family is dedicated to The JEDEC-compliant ISOFACE 4DIRx4xxH series is designed for industrial applications such as renewable energy, servers, telecom, industrial switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), industrial automation, isolated serial peripheral interfaces (SPI), and other industrial applications. These products are available in a 300 mil PG-DSO-16 wide-body package and feature four data channels that provide enhanced isolation capabilities to ensure reliable data communications even in harsh environments. The ISOFACE four-channel digital isolators operate from a supply voltage range of 2.7 to 6.5 V. Despite this wide supply voltage range, these digital isolators are very power efficient, with a maximum current consumption of only 1.6 mA per channel when running at speeds up to 1 Mbps with a 3.3 V supply voltage and 15 pF load capacitance. In addition, Infineon's robust coreless transformer ("CT") technology provides high system noise immunity (common-mode transient immunity of at least 100 kV/µs) and is able to withstand isolation voltages of up to 5700 Vrms. ISOFACE digital isolators are rugged and especially suited for operation in challenging and delicate environments such as extreme temperature conditions. The isolators for automotive applications demonstrate their ruggedness by effectively operating in Class I ambient temperature conditions, withstanding temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as +125°C. These isolators are able to cope with a variety of environmental challenges, such as voltage transients, electromagnetic interference (EMI), electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical interference, and more, to ensure stable, reliable performance. With low propagation delays and minimal inter-channel mismatch, they offer precise timing performance that reduces the risk of damage and ensures data integrity. In addition, their pin-to-pin compatibility increases the stability of the power supply, which in turn improves the reliability of the entire system. These isolators are adept at minimizing signal noise over a wide range of supply voltages, and their precise timing performance and compatibility help enable high power density designs. Semiconductor component-level and system-level approvals simplify the safety certification process and speed time-to-market, making ISOFACE digital isolators ideal for robust, high-efficiency electronic systems.
