Renesas Electronics Group (TSE: 6723), a global provider of semiconductor solutions, announced that its wireless charging products have been integrated into the Active ES® stylus solution from Wacom, a provider of advanced digital stylus and ink pen solutions. Renesas' single-chip wireless power receiver IC is small and efficient compared to other high-frequency charging solutions. With a small enough size, Renesas' wireless charging technology can fit into a digital pen and facilitate wireless charging after being secured to a tablet slot.
Integrating low-frequency wireless charging technology into Wacom's Active ES® stylus opens up a whole new range of possibilities. This novel and innovative concept brings the convenience of wireless charging to digital accessories, allowing users to be as innovative as they want to be on their smartphones and tablets. Dr. Amit Bavisi, Vice President of Wireless Power, Mobile Infrastructure & IoT Power Division, Renesas Electronics, said, "Renesas is proud to expand its partnership with an established leader like Wacom to bring superior wireless power solutions to the stylus market. As a pioneer in wireless power solutions, we will continue to work with our global customers to bring the convenience of wireless charging to a variety of platforms." Akitake Komine, executive vice president and head of Wacom's Technology Solutions Business Unit, said, "Wacom's customers are always looking for convenient digital pen charging solutions, and Renesas has solved the problem for us - creating the small size and high energy efficiency we need for our consumers with a a first-class solution."
