SK enpulse sells two semiconductor materials businesses to Chinese companies

SK enpulse, an affiliate of SKC's semiconductor raw materials business, announced on September 13 that it will sell its wet chemistry business, which currently operates in China, to YAK Semiconductor, a subsidiary of Jiangsu YAK Technology Co. and its cleaning business to investment specialist Beijing Yisheng Precision Semiconductor Co. ("Yisheng Precision").
The sale, which includes a 75% stake in the wet chemistry business and a 90% stake in the cleaning business, is said to amount to approximately KRW 880 billion. after holding a board of directors' meeting on september 12, SK enpulse signed a stock purchase agreement (SPA) with AccuSemiconductor and Yisheng Precision, respectively.
Yak Technologies is a listed company engaged in specialty gases for semiconductors and displays as well as photoresist business. Yisheng Precision is an investor in semiconductor processing equipment and components.
Earlier this year, SKC integrated its semiconductor materials and components business into SK enpulse and is expanding its business in high-value-added materials for semiconductor front-end processes, including CMP pads and blank masks, in addition to its plans to enter the semiconductor back-end business.
