It is reported that TSMC's 3nm process will be mass-produced next year, and the 2nm process will be mass-produced in 2025, while the 1nm process has no clear production plan. Recently, it was reported that the location of TSMC's 1nm chip factory has basically been determined. According to the relevant person in charge of Hsinchu Science Park, TSMC's future 1nm chip factory will be located in Zhuke Longtan Park. Longke's Phase 3 expansion pilot plan was reported in mid-November, and progress is normal.
According to Taiwan Economic Daily, Wang Yongzhuang, the person in charge of Zhuke Longtan Park, said that the pilot plan for the third phase of the expansion of Zhuke Longtan Park has been reported. If all goes well, the goal is to start construction and construction of the plant in mid-2026, which also means TSMC's 1 nano plant can complete the pilot run as soon as 2027, and mass production is expected in 2028. However, there is still a problem with the amount of investment. The construction capital of TSMC's 3nm and 5nm plants is about $20 billion, and the investment plan for the 1nm process is as high as $32 billion. The cost is much higher than the previous process. One of the most important reasons is the next generation of EUV lithography machines. The current AMSL EUV lithography machine can meet the needs of the 3nm process. The process after 2nm will be performed on the high NA technology EUV lithography machine. Model NXE: 5200. The price has skyrocketed from the current $150 million to over $400 million. TSMC's base camp is located in Hsinchu Science Park. If you really want to deploy Taiwan's advanced semiconductor processes ahead of time, the ideal place to choose is the nearby Longtan Science Park, which will bring tens of thousands of jobs to Taoyuan, and then drive the development of Taoyuan's entire local economy. TSMC previously stated that the 3nm process will be mass-produced in the fourth quarter, and will increase its revenue by about a mid-single-digit percentage (about 4% to 6%) next year; the development progress of the upgraded N3E technology is ahead of schedule, and mass production is expected in the second half of next year. According to public information, Zhuke's Longtan Park base has about 7,000 employees, and the overall annual turnover exceeds NT$50 billion. The entry projects are mainly in the integrated circuits, optoelectronics and biotechnology industries. At present, TSMC, Hejing Technology, Apple Branch and other industries have entered.
