Kioxia Launches New JEDEC eMMC Ver 5.1 Compliant Consumer Embedded Flash Memory

Kioxia recently announced that its latest generation of JEDEC eMMC Ver 5.1 compliant embedded flash products for the consumer market are now available for sampling.
Kioxia's new eMMC 5.1 products feature updated 3D Flash for improved reliability and performance, and are available in 64G and 128G capacities, with end products expected to be fully available in October. According to the introduction, the latest BiCS 3D Flash features an improved architecture that enables more stable sequential write performance. Idle to auto-sleep time has been reduced from the current 200 ms to 2 ms, a difference of about 100 times, resulting in further extended endurance and faster performance. The new mid-range capacity release not only offers 64/128GB capacity options, but also integrates flash memory and host control in a single package.
